How far ahead to book Fes in 2027

Plain answer: a few months for spring, autumn and the festival weeks, a few weeks for most of the year, and sometimes just a few days for a medina walk. Here's where the 2027 calendar makes a difference.

  • No payment to get a plan
  • Private or small-group

When notice matters in 2027

Four kinds of week, and what each one needs.

Spring and autumn

Plan a few months ahead

March to May and September to November are the easiest months to walk the medina, so more people travel then. Planning earlier gives you more choice of riads, guides and desert camps.

Festival and Easter weeks

Plan as soon as you know

Easter Sunday is 28 March 2027. The Sacred Music Festival's 2027 dates aren't announced yet; when they are, more visitors come to Fes that week, so earlier is better.

Around the Eids

Book drivers early

Eid al-Fitr is expected around 9 or 10 March and Eid al-Adha around 16 or 17 May. Many guides and drivers spend those days with their families, and roads and trains are busy.

The rest of the year

A few weeks is usually fine

Winter and the summer months are quieter. A medina walk with a guide can often be arranged a few days ahead.

Earlier gives you more choice. It doesn't have to be months.

From first message to your first morning

How planning with us usually runs.

Whenever you're ready

A few lines from you

Roughly when, who is travelling and what you'd like to see. A month or a season is enough to start.

A few days later

A written plan and quote

Day by day, with the guide, driver and riads named. Nothing is charged for this.

When you decide

We confirm everything

Riads, guides, drivers and any desert camp, in your name.

The week before

We check the moon dates

If Ramadan or an Eid falls near your trip, we confirm the dates once the moon is sighted and adjust the days.

Booking questions

The questions people ask us most before they plan a trip.

How far ahead should I book a Fes trip for 2027?
For spring and autumn, a few months ahead gives you the widest choice of riads, guides and drivers. For the rest of the year, a few weeks is often enough. Short notice can work too: tell us your dates and we tell you honestly what is still possible.
Which weeks need the most notice in 2027?
Easter (Easter Sunday is 28 March 2027), the week of the Fes Festival of World Sacred Music once its dates are announced, and the days around Eid al-Adha (expected 16 or 17 May), when many guides and drivers are with their families.
Can I book a medina tour a few days ahead?
Often, yes. A private guided walk in Fes can usually be arranged at short notice outside the busiest weeks. Multi-day trips with a driver, desert camps and specific riads need more time.
Do I pay when I ask for a plan?
No. You tell us your dates and what you want, and we send a written plan and quote. You only commit when you decide to book.

Tell us your 2027 dates. We'll tell you what's possible.

  1. Tell us what drew you in. Your dates, who is travelling and what you want to see.
  2. A person reads it. We write a day-by-day plan for your group, private or small-group.
  3. You change anything. Then we confirm the guides, drivers and riads.
