Fes with kids at Easter 2027

Easter Sunday is 28 March 2027, and Ramadan is expected to have ended about three weeks before. That makes the Easter holidays a good spring week for Fes with children: mild days, the medina at their pace, Roman ruins, monkeys in the cedars and, if you have the time, the dunes.

Why Easter 2027 works

Three things line up in late March 2027.

Ramadan expected to end around 9 or 10 March

Normal hours again

By Easter week, cafés and restaurants are back to their usual hours, and the medina has its normal daytime rhythm.

Late March

Spring weather

Mild, often sunny days for walking, cool evenings, and gardens like Jnan Sbil coming into flower. Pack a warm layer and a light rain jacket.

26 to 29 March

Good Friday to Easter Monday

Not holidays in Morocco, so everything is open. School dates vary, so check your own calendar and tell us the days you have.

In Fes the traffic jams are donkeys.

Fes el Bali

A family week from Fes

One way to shape it. We change everything around your children's ages and energy.

Day 1

Arrive and settle in

A transfer to your riad, a slow afternoon and an early dinner on the roof.

Day 2

The medina, in short stretches

A family walk with a guide: the tannery terraces, the bread ovens, the potters and a rest for juice. Shorter than an adult tour, with more stops.

Day 3

Cook something

A family cooking class where children knead bread and roll their own pastries.

Day 4

Romans and a hilltop town

Volubilis, where children can walk the old streets and spot the mosaics, then lunch near Moulay Idriss.

Day 5

Monkeys in the cedars

The Middle Atlas: Ifrane's lake and the Azrou cedar forest, where Barbary macaques live.

Days 6 and 7, if you have them

Or a night in the dunes

A long drive each way, but older children tend to remember a camel ride and a night in a desert camp.

Family questions

The questions people ask us most before they plan a trip.

Does Easter 2027 clash with Ramadan in Morocco?
No. Easter Sunday is 28 March 2027, and Ramadan is expected to end with Eid al-Fitr around 9 or 10 March. So the usual Easter school holidays fall after Ramadan, when restaurants and cafés keep their normal hours.
What is the weather like in Fes at Easter?
Late March and April are spring in Fes: mild, often sunny days that suit walking, cooler evenings, and the occasional shower. Bring a warm layer for the evenings and for any day trip into the Middle Atlas.
Is the Fes medina OK for young children?
Yes, with a guide and the right pace. Lanes are narrow and busy and there are no cars, so carriers work better than buggies for small children. We keep walks short, plan breaks and pick the workshops and sights children enjoy most.
When are the Easter school holidays in 2027?
They vary by country, region and school, so check your own school calendar. Good Friday is 26 March and Easter Monday is 29 March 2027. Tell us your dates and we plan around them.
How much does a family trip cost?
We don't publish prices. Every family trip is private and quoted for your dates, your children's ages and how much you want to do. Tell us about your family and we send a day-by-day plan.

Tell us your children's ages and your Easter dates.

  1. Tell us what drew you in. Your dates, who is travelling and what you want to see.
  2. A person reads it. We write a day-by-day plan for your group, private or small-group.
  3. You change anything. Then we confirm the guides, drivers and riads.
