From Rabat-Sale arrivals inland to the medina of Fes
Rabat-Sale is the shortest gateway run to Fes: a private drive east on the motorway across the cork-oak hills and the Saiss plain, past Meknes. Your driver waits in arrivals and works from your real landing time. Stop in Meknes if you like, then reach your hotel door or the medina gate, where a porter takes your bags.

How the arrival runs
Rabat-Sale airport sits just east of the capital, which puts it on the right side of town for Fes. The motorway runs inland across the Zemmour cork-oak hills and the Saiss plain, past Meknes.

How we run it
It is the shortest of the gateway runs to Fes, and worth checking when you search flights: a Rabat arrival saves around 45 minutes of road compared with Casablanca.
Private
Private is the default for airport transfers: the vehicle and driver are yours alone, waiting for your flight, leaving when you are through the doors. Nobody else's delayed suitcase holds you up.
Small-group
Small-group sharing is possible only when another party is landing on the same flight or within a short window and heading the same way. If you ask, we will tell you honestly whether a shared run is realistic for your date; most of the time it is not, and private is simpler.
What we arrange
- Driver waiting in arrivals with a name sign, after passport control and baggage reclaim
- Your flight number watched on the day, so a delay moves the pickup instead of cancelling it
- A vehicle sized to your party and your luggage, agreed before you fly
- Child and infant seats fitted on request (tell us ages and weights)
- Bottled water on board and a phone or WhatsApp contact for the driver
- Fuel, tolls and parking folded into one written quote
- Medina gate and porter arranged with your riad

Kissaria, FesThe honest details
Cars cannot enter the Fes medina
Fes el-Bali is car-free. Vehicles stop at the nearest gate or car park to your riad (Bab Boujloud, Bab Guissa, Bab R'cif, Bab Ftouh and others), and the last stretch is on foot. A porter with a handcart carries the bags through the lanes, and many riads send someone to meet you at the gate. Tell us the riad's name and we work out the right gate with them before you land.
Entry formalities come first
Passport control at Moroccan airports can be quick or slow depending on how many flights land together. Check whether your nationality needs a visa before you fly; our visa and entry guide sets out how to check.
