Columns and walls of the Roman basilica at Volubilis, a stork nest on top of a column

From the arrivals hall to Roman Volubilis and Moulay Idriss

This private transfer takes you from Fes-Saiss arrivals to Moulay Idriss Zerhoun, with an optional stop at Roman Volubilis timed to the site's opening hours. Land in the morning and you walk the floor mosaics while your bags stay in the locked vehicle under the driver's watch. Land late and we drive straight to your guesthouse.

A morning-arrival example

Volubilis, the Roman city listed by UNESCO, and the hillside town of Moulay Idriss Zerhoun sit a few kilometres apart on the slopes of Jebel Zerhoun, north of Meknes. A growing number of travellers stay a night in Moulay Idriss guesthouses, and this transfer is built for them.

Arrival

Moulay Idriss guesthouse

The town climbs steeply and its lanes are on foot; we drop at the closest point and help with bags.

Road distances and times are typical ranges for a private car, without stops.

How we run it

If you land in the morning, we can stop at Volubilis on the way so you see the mosaics before checking in. If you land late, we drive straight through and you visit the ruins fresh the next morning.

Private

Private is the default for airport transfers: the vehicle and driver are yours alone, waiting for your flight, leaving when you are through the doors. Nobody else's delayed suitcase holds you up.

Small-group

Small-group sharing is possible only when another party is landing on the same flight or within a short window and heading the same way. If you ask, we will tell you honestly whether a shared run is realistic for your date; most of the time it is not, and private is simpler.

What we arrange

  • Driver waiting in arrivals with a name sign, after passport control and baggage reclaim
  • Your flight number watched on the day, so a delay moves the pickup instead of cancelling it
  • A vehicle sized to your party and your luggage, agreed before you fly
  • Child and infant seats fitted on request (tell us ages and weights)
  • Bottled water on board and a phone or WhatsApp contact for the driver
  • Fuel, tolls and parking folded into one written quote
  • Optional Volubilis stop with luggage kept in the locked vehicle under the driver's watch

Best season

Spring, when the Zerhoun hills are green and wildflowers cover the ruins, and autumn. Volubilis has little shade, so summer visits work best early in the day.

Shrine access

The mausoleum of Moulay Idriss I at the heart of the town is open to Muslims only. Everyone can walk the town and its viewpoints.

Entry formalities come first

Passport control at Moroccan airports can be quick or slow depending on how many flights land together. Check whether your nationality needs a visa before you fly; our visa and entry guide sets out how to check.

Questions, answered

What people ask us most before they book this.

Where will the driver meet me at Fes-Saiss airport?
In the arrivals hall, once you have cleared passport control, collected your bags and passed customs. The driver holds a sign with the name you give us. We send the driver's name and phone or WhatsApp number before you travel, so you can call if you cannot see the sign straight away.
What happens if my flight is delayed or early?
We watch your flight number on the day and plan the pickup around the actual landing time, not the scheduled one. A delay moves your pickup; it does not cancel it. If you miss a connection and land on a different flight altogether, message us the new flight number as soon as you know it.
How much luggage can we bring?
Tell us the number of travellers and bags (including golf bags, surfboards, buggies or wheelchairs) when you ask for a quote. We size the vehicle to the luggage, not just the headcount, so nobody ends up with a suitcase on their lap.
Do you provide child seats?
Yes, on request. Give us each child's age and approximate weight and we fit an appropriate infant seat, child seat or booster before the driver leaves for the airport. Please ask at quote stage rather than on arrival.
Is the transfer private or shared?
Private by default: one party, one vehicle. A shared small-group run only happens when another party is on the same flight or close to it and travelling the same way, and we will only suggest it when it genuinely works.
How much does it cost?
Every transfer is quoted for your party, your luggage, your arrival time and your exact drop-off. Send the details through the quote form and we reply with one written figure that already includes fuel, tolls and the driver's waiting time.
Can we visit Volubilis with our luggage?
Yes. Bags stay in the locked vehicle and the driver stays with it while you walk the site. Let us know at quote stage so we plan the timing around opening hours.

Tell us your dates. We'll plan it with you.

  1. Tell us what drew you in. Your dates, who is travelling and what you want to see.
  2. A person reads it. We write a day-by-day plan for your group, private or small-group.
  3. You change anything. Then we confirm the guides, drivers and riads.
